Robert F. Young is CEO, RFY International LLC, a consultancy focused on development of high technology trade between the US and Asia regions. As President, Asia Region, Lockheed Martin Global, Inc., Mr. Young was responsible for Lockheed Martin’s international business activity in the entire Asia region, with offices in Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong, Manila, Singapore, Canberra and New Delhi. He was resident in Asia for over 28 years, and is currently based in McLean, VA.
Mr. Young previously served as Vice President Asia Pacific, RCA Corp., based in Hong Kong, and as President and General Manager, GE Aerospace Far East, Ltd. in Tokyo until GE Aerospace merged with Martin Marietta Corporation in 1993. He was President Far East Region, Martin Marietta International, Ltd. until the merger with Lockheed Corporation in 1995. He held senior leadership positions in Asia for Lockheed Martin Corporation in Asia since the merger, until retiring in June 2011.
A West Point graduate, Mr. Young received a master's degree in Oriental Studies from the University of Arizona. He served in a variety of positions for the Army and the Department of Defense, primarily in Asia and Washington, including assignments as military attaché in Taipei and Beijing. He is fluent in Chinese.
Mr. Young has been awarded the U.S. Department of Defense Superior Service Medal and three Bronze Star Medals, as well as other U.S. and foreign decorations.
